Today we accomplished packing a little and finding more stuff to donate! It’s so refreshing to let go of objects that at some point you think you needed but you now realize you won’t miss much when it’s not actually there.
Last night I also managed to buy a new camera on amazon in the hopes of video blogging. It’s nothing too fancy but it will last until I decide to upgrade. When I left for Taiwan last year, I told myself I would make videos and journal but I didn’t do as much as I would’ve liked to! It’s my goal to create and record many memories. Any recommendations on how to keep it up? I just get so involved (or lazy) and forget to blog.
That’s all for now! I gotta be at work early tomorrow (anyone else having trouble sleeping because they can’t stop watching Orange is the New Black)? ❤
We started going through our stuff to figure out what we want to take with us to Taiwan. Since it will be hard to bring most of it with us on the plane, we’ve decided to donate a lot of it. It’s so overwhelming to go through all the stuff we’ve accumulated and trying to decide what to give up. We’ve only finished filtering our clothing and next we will pick through our books. Because there is so much stuff it’s a little hard to focus on going through one thing (it took forever to do clothes)! We will be moving out of our apartment at the end of this month and will be staying with a friend until we leave on the 9th of September. Crunch time is almost here and I don’t know how we are gonna get rid of it all! On a side-note, I like to crochet and have accumulated a mountain of yarn. How can I part with it?! I know they will have yarn in Taiwan, but for some reason it’s hard for me to imagine giving it all away. haha, oh well. Luckily Matt doesn’t really have a lot of stuff (aside from his obsession with black socks). Thanks for reading! Wish us luck on packing. ❤ Meghan
Hello, my name is Meghan. My boyfriend, Matt, and I will be leaving the states for Taiwan on September 9th and we want you to be a part of our adventure.
What will we be doing? Hopefully learning Chinese, making new friends, and teaching English! You may or may not have heard about the teaching abroad phenomenon that has been occurring, but me and Matt will be jumping on the bandwagon. This will be my second time in Taiwan. I studied abroad in Tainan during the academic year of 2012-2013 and fell in love with the country! I’ve wanted to go back ever since I’ve returned to the states (but I had to graduate first). This will be Matt’s first time (you can guess that I may have had something to do with convincing him to try Taiwan) and we are both excited as ever!
Now that a short introduction is out of the way, I hope you can join us in exploring Taiwan!!
❤ Meghan n’ Matt
